Add Header Item

Imagine you would like to add any of the X- items:

http://blog.returnpath.com/blog/john-po ... erformance
http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc822
http://www.iana.org/assignments/message ... ders.xhtml
Would that be in the ss_mail.php or where? And how would one define/set this? Somewhere for each list or app wide?
